RIO GUADALMINA

For beginners and families.

Easy.

A great place to initiate your canyoning career, with easy access into the canyon and within walking distance of Benhavis town this canyon is ideal for those that wish to take their first steps down a canyon.  We will spend a couple of hours jumping, abseiling, swimming and scrambling. Because there are numerous options along the route we can tailor the trip as we go to different ability levels, allowing the braver participants to jump whilst the other can scramble. Although you need to be reasonably mobile and able to swim the level of fitness required is lower than Rio Verde. Of course I will provide all the technical equipment including wet suits, gloves socks harnesses and helmets. You need to bring, comfortable old running shoes which will get wet. I do reserve the right to postpone any activity in the interest of safety and inclement weather conditions.  The minimum age for this activity is 9. However all participants must be competent swimmers.

The standard itinerary is as follows:

0800 - Meet at the spanish side of the border.

0900 - Arrive at the Canyon start, and change into wet suits.

1200 - Arrive at the end. (Approximate).

I can wait for the group to have lunch in Benhavis as it is renowned in the area for its quality restaurants.

Up to you its about 40 minutes drive - Arrive back at the border no later than 1600.

CANYONING

RIO VERDE

For the adventurous adrenaline junkie.

Hard.

Although there are numerous canyons in the area by far the most dynamic and aesthetically pleasing is Rio Verde, with its crystal clear waters, pristeen pools and flowing cascades it is well worth the effort. Which is why this is the advanced canyon that I offer. A three hour drive from Gibraltar we would set off early in order to complete the activity and be back that evening. This activity is suitable for both hardcore beginners and experts alike, as a reasonable level of fitness is needed. We will spend a few hours jumping, abseiling, swimming and scrambling down the canyon. I will provide all the technical equipment including wet suits, gloves socks and harnesses. You need to bring, comfortable old running shoes which will get wet. I do reserve the right to postpone any activity in the interest of safety and inclement weather conditions. Because this activity is monitored by the Junta De Andalusia at least 15 days notice is required so that I make sure the relevant permits are in place. The minimum age for this activity is 16.
